Went home to visit family in OK over Mother’s Day weekend. First time all of our family has been in one place in almost 3 years. First time I’ve spent Mother’s Day with my mom since I’ve become a mother. First time I’ve 100% enjoyed a visit back home in a VERY LONG TIME!
After getting home in just enough time to unpack the car and change for Lola’s kindergarten preview night, go grocery shopping and unpack I am adjusting to my “real world.”
2 kids, 3 dogs, a dirty house, lots of dirty laundry and a to-do list that’s surprisingly long. Yep, that’s my real world.
Today, I think about what a good time we had as a I drink a gallon of water that I didn’t even come close to drinking on any day we were gone. Today, I will eat significantly better than I did when I was home. I will fondly remember mom’s cooking, Mazzio’s and Braums as I eat my salad for lunch. Today, I will spend some time on the ellpitcal and do some yoga and rest. Nope, didn’t run while I was home. Had my clothes and shoes. Had the opportunity and I didn’t do it. That is one thing I regret. The park where I grew up now has sidewalk trails all along a very beautiful lake. I know, I’m a dummy. I was honestly salivating at the sight of the beauty and ease of that new sidewalk.
I’m back in my real world and I feel good. Refreshed and loved on by my family and ready to face my big race on Saturday. Hello Beach to Bay 2013.
